Not sure if you need to upgrade your sound system or what your first step should be? Follow the steps below to help guide you through the process!
Jump into your vehicle and close all doors/windows and crank up your favourite tunes. Remember, You don't have to be a professional to know what good music should sound like. Lets go back to the basics, most vehicles will have a common equalizer setting on the factory deck. Treble, Bass, Mid, Don't worry if you don't have all three or none at all. If you find yourself turning up one of the three you can get an idea of what you would want to upgrade.
Now lets narrow it down a bit more. If you find yourself turning up the treble due to a lack of clarity then you might want to change your factory speakers to get a bit more clarity.
If you are turning up your bass then you got it, you might want to add a subwoofer system to help balance your system. This is one of the easier and most common upgrades done on vehicles today.
Now that you have a basic idea of what you might want, you should ask yourself these questions:
- What is your budget?
- How important is bass?
- Do you like listening to your music loud?
- Do you want to change your head-unit (Factory Stereo)
Adding a subwoofer system is one of the best ways to get more out of your system. Most customers tend to raise their bass alongside their treble and mid but this causes a lot of distortion and possibly damage your speakers over time. If you add a subwoofer system you can now turn down the bass and let the speakers focus on voice, hence reducing the distortion you were getting before.
