About: CT Sounds TROPO-6-5-COX 6.5" 80W RMS Shallow-Mount Car Speakers

CT Sounds designed the Tropo 6.5” shallow-mount coaxial speakers to compliment aftermarket subwoofer setups without stealing electrical (power) from your subwoofers and needing a 4-channel amplifier for these speakers to perform. These 6.5” speakers are engineered to be loud and clear on head-unit power while still offering solid mid-bass and not distorting at higher volume levels.

Many vehicle manufacturers (Ford, Chevy, Toyota, etc.) have very shallow speaker slots which makes it challenging to install aftermarket speakers without the window glass hitting the speaker magnet when rolling it down. To prevent this issue, you need to add spacers to lift the speaker, however, this creates a new problem where the speaker starts to contact the door panel due to cone excursion. The CT Sounds Tropo 6.5” has a 1.81” mounting depth (unheard of!) and is the only 6.5” speaker in car audio that offers a solution at the 80-watt rms power level.
