This Subwoofer has been called the "best damn 8-inch subwoofer ever made" for its remarkable performance capabilities and design attributes. An impressive linear excursion envelope that exceeds 0.75 in. (19 mm) one-way allows it to deliver impact well beyond the range of other 8-inch Subwoofers. The 8W7AE is best used with amplifier power in the 200W - 500W range and is optimized to operate in a 0.875 cu. ft. (24.8 l) sealed enclosure, or a 1.0 cu. ft. (28.3 l) ported enclosure.

W7AE (Anniversary Edition) Subwoofers celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the launch of the W7 subwoofers. Functionally, they are identical to the original W7's, but they are distinguished by the following cosmetic differences:
