About: Klipsch THX-5000-LCR THX Ultra2 Series Dual 5.25" Cinema Speaker - Each 

By using the same research and development used to create its professional cinema systems, Klipsch has developed the KL-525-THX LCR loudspeaker to create real theater-style sound in the comforts of home. As part of the THX® Ultra2 family, this LCR reproduces all the passion that the filmmakers originally intended.

As the smaller of the two LCR speakers in the Ultra2 family, the highly efficient KL-525-THX features a sealed enclosure, top-of-the-line internal wiring, dual 5.25-inch Cerametallic™ woofers and a 1-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver coupled to a 6- by 10-inch Tractrix® Horn.

The KL-525-THX enclosure has the same dado and rabbet construction used in Klipsch professional speakers ensuring cabinet integrity in suspended applications. The Omni-Mount suspension points on this loudspeaker facilitate wall or ceiling mounting using standard hardware.

The Klipsch IK-800-W installation kit offers increased mounting flexibility for all of our in-wall speakers that employ an 8-inch woofer. This revolutionary kit design incorporates a mud ring breakaway wire tie and color-coded brackets for easy speaker size identification.

The kit also comes with perforated metal wings that easily fasten to the studs via screws staples or nails. Ribbed for increased rigidity these wings enable a kit to span up to 24 inches easily. Painted white for easy marking and placement these metal wings will fold around the edge of the studs if necessary.

The Thx-5000-LCR Is a Thx® Ultra2 Certified Loudspeaker

It was designed primarily for front left-, center-, and right-channel reproduction in high-performance home theaters. It can also be used for surround channels and is equally suitable for combination home theater/music systems demanding superb sound and high output capability. Its enclosure is front-ported to facilitate installation in custom cabinetry and has back-panel 1/4”-20 threaded inserts compatible with any high-quality wall/ceiling speaker mount rated for 40 lbs or higher loads.

The Thx-5000-LCR Design Emerges Directly from Klipsch’s Experience as a Leading Supplier of Cinema Sound Systems

A large, rectangular 90° x 60° Tractrix® horn raises the efficiency of the speaker’s 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver tweeter and optimizes its radiation pattern. The horn enables the speaker to meet THX Ultra2 directivity specifications without the lobing and comb filtering effects that afflict conventional multiple-tweeter solutions. Its dual 5.25” woofers have large, magnetically shielded motor structures that drive rigid, low-mass Cerametallic™ cones for high output and low distortion.
